ROBOCUP RESCUE

The RobotCup Rescue (RCR) is an international college-level robotics competition hosted by the RoboCup Federation. The competition takes place at different locations every year. For the 2024 competition, the competition takes place in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The objective of RCR is to develop and demonstrate advanced robotic capabilities for emergency responders using annual competitions to evaluate, and teaching camps to disseminate, best-in-class robotic solutions. Robot teams demonstrate their capabilities in mobility, sensory perception, localization and mapping, mobile manipulation, practical operator interfaces, and assistive autonomous behaviors to improve remote operator performance while searching for simulated victims in a maze of terrains and challenges For more information about RCR, please visit the following website: https://rrl.robocup.org/

OUR TEAMS

Our RCR development is split into three teams:

  1. MECHANICAL TEAM - All about making things work. The mechanical team covers the building, modeling, and machining of our physical components for our drive, chassis, and arm.
  2. SOFTWARE TEAM - The digital brains of our operations. This team covers our code and software architecture to command our robots and handle communications, controls, and vision.
  3. ELECTRICAL TEAM - All things electronic. Our electrical team handles circuits, soldering, and sensors to bring a spark to our bots. They cover our tasks ranging from embedded systems to power.
